lord of the rings concert was frigging awesome!
thursday, the long awaited day! Sarah and I were counting down to 5th June since like, 20 days ago hahah. srsly, when i woke up in the morning, i just LEAPT FROM BED muttering, TODAY IS THE DAY! TODAY! TODAY! TODAY! yes school passed pretty fast, until we reached the last period, i was just like NOOO, WHY IS TIME PASSING SO SHITTINGLY SLOWLYYY?roarr. then it sucked when school ended. IT RAINED. it was like OH CRAP. and sarah didnt have an umbrella! eee. so we tottered around looking for an umbrella. called mom, but she was lunching in EAST COAST.ahh, and Sarah's mom was in the ZOO.so we trudged back home with ONE UMBRELLA, MINE! haha it wasnt that bad actually, the rain lesssened somewhat.
so when we got back, wheee RETURN OF THE KING! ha! it was kinda sad, cos we realised we didnt have enough time to finish the whole movie. garr. we started at abt 1 30?by 5 we managed to "finish", by skipping LIKE AT LEAST 10 SCENES HAHA. and fastforwarding alot of the other scenes. SO SAD. OH WELL.
Sarah finally admitted that legolas is hot wth took her like 2 movies to admit it. oh well.ahh we reached the reunion of the fellowship scene, when legolas appeared she just SQUEALED, and went like PAUSE PAUSE PAUSE! yupp.
dinnner at Mos, met up with Jecolia. popped by marks and spencer, AND THEY DIDNT HAVE PERCY PIGS! so we left empty-handed, went wisma. was gonna show jackie that nice dress i saw in theory but it wasnt there anymore, oh well whatever eh. theory frigging expensive anywayyy.
cabbed to esplanade with a bit of time left. we went to the cello shop, then to popcorn movie shop whatever thing. huge lotr framed up lotr poster, OGGLED AT IT VERY VERY LONGINGLY.YES I COULD HAVE DROOLED I THINK. if i really drooled, i think i could have flooded the shop. oh ew thats so gross.
when we went to the concert hall, grabbed the little booklet thingy-whatzamathingy.lovely picture of the fellowship in Moria on the front of the booklet. its the same picture as the one on the cover of the Fellowship Extended DVD! pretty. anyway! i was feeling sooper excited, hyperventilating when we sat down. then we flipped through the booklet and i think i squealed when i saw they were playing evenstar!! i was just pointing at that word "EVENSTAR" and making incoherent noises.yesshh it already looked very good on paper.
i admit i was freaked when i saw these two kids from the childrens choir go up front, then i think jackie said they must be the soloists. well they better be good i thought to meself. well they started with THE PROPECY, i mean duh you have to start off proper. excellent stuff. the slovene choir pple were SUPER GOOD! EXCELLLENT CHANTING, SINGING IN ELVISH. WHEEE.
very pleased indeed. beaming when they started. when they started playing THE BLACK RIDER, i was like NAZGULLL! YAY! the concept pictures and water colour pictures drawn by John Howe and painted by Alan Lee were sooo goood! love them. the 3 of us were just like hissing to each other, "oohh! Rivendell! many meetings! concerning hobbits", and the rather frequent "OH I LOVE THIS SONG!", but yes i think i answered a lot of questions from jack and sarah. proud to say i managed to recognize all the songs:D when they got to journey through the dark, i was like WHHOOPPEEE, THESE SLOVENE CHOIR GUYS CAN CHANT SO WELL IN DWARVISH! the bridge of Khazad-dum was awesome. BUT

BUT.
at the last part of the Bridge of Khazad-Dum, when the fellowship is supposed to run out of Moria and start grieving for gandalf, that part, was done excellently by the rest of the choir, but when the little girl supposedly singing a bit of the solo, IT WAS NIGHTMARISH. that girl ran out of breath and couldnt sing the notes continuously! sucker!!!
at that point, i was terrified, of how terribly the boy would distort the song IN DREAMS, which was sung by Edward Ross orginally for the soundtrack. excellent that, my favourite songs, its actually part of the Breaking of the Fellowship! and when they were nearing the end of the Breaking, when the boy stood up, i was kinda like oh my freak, he better be good. when he opened up his mouth and started singing, i was like
WHAT THE FREAKING HELL ARE YOU SINGING BOY!?!!!!
HE WAS SINGING A LOVELY SONG
IN THAT REALLY DISGUSTING SINGAPOREAN ACCENT!
SINGLISH TINGE! EWWW.

i just buried up head in my hands and hoped that song would end quickly. which is really strange, cos its actaully my favourite song! ahhhh. so i when i went hope, i went to listen to edward ross's in dreams to drown out that horrible memory of that boy singing.
but everything else was excellent! the soloist from the Slovene Choir was very goood! her singing of evenstar was goood. but her singing of Gollum's Song was awesome! it was really her type of song i guess. when she sang into the west, it was goood tooo! but her rendition of gollum's song was better.
i was ecstatic when they were playing The Fields of the Pelennor! well you see in the booklet they didnt say they would be playing Fields of the Pelennor, but they played it! whooopee! and instead they didnt play Cirith Ungol, thank goodness. i was quite beside myself

this concert was worth EVERY SINGLE CENT i paid. sighhh.

friday at school wasnt that bad. amath was suprisingly tolerable. kinematics is a pain in the ass. its so annoying eeee.
but what the hell, life is miserable when you've got stupid Os like 4 months away? shite.
it was so good, i couldnt stop hyperventilating when i was there before the concert started!
